ARTIST BIO

Toby Barnes (b. 1974; BFA, Cooper Union, 1997; MFA, University of Michigan, 1999). Asian-American painter of Thai heritage.  My paintings have been featured in a number of exhibitions including: “Psionic Distortion” (2005 & 2004) Plum Blossoms (NY) and Super-Deluxe (Japan) galleries; the 2004 Queens International; “Blind Pilots” group show, The Proposition Gallery (Chelsea, NY); and the 2003 Asian American Arts Center’s 13th Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition. My art work has been reviewed in publications such as Artnet, Flavorpill, The Japan Times, Art Asia Pacific, and most recently appeared on the cover of the August/September 2005 issue of New York Arts Magazine.
